We have just released theĀ Orion’s Belt Translation Project. On this website we have all the tokens/resources that we use in the game, for all the supported languages. The idea is that now anyone can easily contribute with translations or corrections. Well, not anyone… you’ll need to register and we’ll need to approve you. You can know more about contributing by reading the instructions.

I’d like to remember you that we are very very generous with those that help us. So, if you contribute to our cause, we’ll reward you with Orions and you’ll became part of an excellent team! :)

If you want to help here’s what you can do:

  • You can contact us stating that you’d like to help translating the game to language X
  • You can contact us stating that you’d like to maintain language Y (corrections, etc)

When we think about the Orion’s Belt game play, we do think that the game is turning out to be quite pleasant to play. We have quests, a vast universe, and soon we’ll have even more surprises for you. :)

But… we haven’t yet done something to make alliances fight. There are some wars here and there, but nothing too important. We are brainstorming a concept that we hope will change that.

A relic will be a universe body just like an arena, and we’ll have a lot of them on the universe. But only players with alliance will benefit from it. When a player conquers a Relic, all the players on his/hers alliance will benefit from it. Every day at a given time we’ll add to all alliance members several resources, per owned Relic. We aren’t sure yet about the quantities.

We believe that this will create a domination like game on the universe, where alliances will fight for the most Relics. More Relics means more resources every day. I believe that we’ll start to see alliances forming territories of Relics, protecting them, and attacking Relics of enemy alliances.

This is still very raw on our minds but it’s very doable. What do you think?

Filed under: Races — Nuno Silva @ 6:30 am

With the beautiful images that your current artist, David, has made for each race, the race selection page has been upgraded.

Here is a shot of new layout:

As you can see we added some Lore, made by Nuno Sousa, to each race and closed the names of all the three races.

You can now restart campaign levels. But use it with caution, if you restart a level you’ll loose your old score. If you by any chance need to spend more turns to win, you’ll get that one and not the previous.

ikkie sent me a new version of OBExplorer. It has several bug fixes. I also added a Run.bat file for those that had some difficulties running the application.

Note that you need to have Java installed to be able to run this.

Orion’s Belt now has one more payment system: OneBip.

This system is very interesting for people that want to pay with text messages in other countries (not Portugal). You simply go to the OneBip site and register you mobile there, you send a message to them and the money of the message turns available for payments. After this you can go to Orion’s Belt buy orions page and choose OneBip to make a payment.

Like we said the other day, Filipa Brazona and the Insert Coin’s crew came to our facilities to make a story about the game. The show aired yesterday and you can see our part in here.

Unfortunately they forgot to include Tiago… :( And a link to the game. :( Even so, we think that this was a great promotion and we’re already getting new players that saw the show.

We’re going to try to get the show on video and upload it to youtube, maybe with english subtitles. We’ll warn you when that happens so that we can all go and vote. :)

Today we improved the quests and bounties look and field.

Now, instead of taking you to a new page when you want to view more details and/or accept/reject the quest, a little window will appear with all details of the quest.

In the case of the bounties, a list of people that has accepted the bounty will also appear:

feel free to test it online and comment.
