Well it was a hard morning but Orion’s Belt is finally up and running.
Please report any bugs that you may experience.
Regarding the modifications, beside some bug corrections, the main difference is in style, especially in the Account Menu. All the pages are new. Also the login page and the home page of the player have been restyled.
Next week i plan to restyle some pages that i missed (like Principal, and Contact page) and finish the restyle of the Market and Quest pages.
Online are also 2 new important features:
First is the language: we have a new engine that supports language in the game. The main propose of this engine is to resolve the problem of the tokens that sometimes appear in the game. Also 2 new languages are on the way. The first is German and the second is Hungarian (if you want to contribute in the translation of Orion’s Belt, please go to http://lang.orionsbelt.eu, register and send us an email).
Second, and the most important, The mobs. It’s an old promise with an year old. They are online but hidden. We will go to make some extra tests to see if everything is ok and we can unleash hell in Orion’s Belt.
With the Mobs many things will change.
- First will be the number of quests: We will add 74 more quest to the game (we will double the number of quests we already had). You can alread check the new Quests here.
- Second, and like most RPG’s, there will be items dropped by the mobs. Besides the reward, you will collect items in order to complete the quests.
- Third, we will make more use of the pirate bays and Academies. They will be the delivery point of the quests.
- Finally, both the Mercs and the Space force are set to kill, specially the Mercs. Beware: when the Mobs are released, if you are in the area, you will be attacked. The good news is that there are levels in the bots. Depending of the level of the zone you are, the fleets will be more powerful. Also there are 4 dangerous fleets, the Bosses. If you see them… well… run

As all the players can see, there are some sections in Orion’s Belt that seem, well… incomplete.
So we are currently making the necessary changes to all the sections of the game. It will be a iterative process. Meaning that some sections might appear with the new design but others won’t. in time we hope to improve all your user experience with the design.
But don’t worry. All the sections will be in the same place as they were before and everything will work “as usual”.

A doubt has appeared about how the income of each relic is calculated.
Each relic has a total income of 300 * Level. So, if you have a level 9 relic, the total income will be 2700.
If that relic is in battle, your alliance will suffer a penalty of receiving only 10% of the total value. So instead of 2700 (for the example above) your alliance will only receive 270.
The number of relics you possess also counts. There are a total of 12 relics in the universe. If, for example, you control 6, you will receive the sum of the resources of all you relics plus 1 + (6/12) = 1.5.
Example: Imagine the sum of your alliance relic’s income is 4140. The total income you will receive is 4140 * 1.5 = 6210.

the last week the server had some problems. Some hardware firewalls blew up in the server and created some instability in the Game.
Today i got the response that everything has been resolved. Proof is that Orion’s Belt is up for about 10 hours without any problem. So we thing the problem is finally resolved and close.
So, let the war begin (again).

The price of the devastation has changed, but only for Level 8 and above.
Please check the new prices in the Devastation Manual Page.
These change was made because the top levels are very powerful. So use them wisely.

We recently discovered that some players have unusual quantities of resources in their fleet cargo.
Those quantities are beyond the usual quantities that a normal player should have. So, effective now, the limit of resources that you can have is:
each Normal resource: 250000
each Rare resource: 100000
A script will run today trimming the resources of all players, no exceptions. Meanwhile the game code will be made to prevent this issue from happening giving the respective warning.
This means that in the future, if you buy 60000 of rare resources in the AH, that quantity will be trimmed to 50000.
Many problems have been happening because of the devastation and Beacons. After some days around the code i’ve think i finally resolved all.
Some players have been reporting that the beacons are not protecting their fleets from the devastations. There were in fact 2 bugs that occurred in some particular situations. One of them was when a level 6 devastation or above was fired in the border of the beacon. The other was in some situations when the devastations was fired 6 squares from the beacon. After some tests, the bugs are corrected. Please report any problems using the contacts form in the site, an we will address them as fast as possible,
We are very sorry for destroying the game experience of some players. We hope to have corrected all the issues and that you can enjoy the game without bugs.
