Orion’s Belt Tactical MMO is a free browser game that is a Tactical MMO on several levels. First, this browser game has tactical actions on the universe, where players conquer planets and move fleets, perform trade routes, and fight for better zones. Then it has a tactical PvP battle system on a board game.

Tactical Warfare at The Universe

Like on every MMO game, there are always many players fighting for the best positions or for supremacy. Orion’s Belt offers several tactical means for alliances to fight for their space. Not only you have planets to conquer, worm holes to protect and fleets to engage war, but you also have other tactical supreme weapons at your disposal:

  • Devastation - This ultimate weapon destroys everything on a zone. The bigger the weapon’s level, bigger is the devastation caused. You have to move a fleet to a location to pin point the target, then run!
  • Temporary Worm Holes - You can place temporary worm holes for tactical movement, this will increase you fleet’s movement speed on the universe substantially
  • The Beacon - The beacon acts like a tactical scanner. It provides line of sight, gives your information about anything near it, and prevents any ultimate weapon to be used near it

These ultimate weapons are critical for the biggest tactical challenge an alliance may have: the fight for relics! There are on the universe special relics that provide all alliance members with rare resources income. The more relics your alliance get, the more income it will receive. This tactical advantage is very important on our MMO browser game, and alliance need coordinate very well the wars and alliances to get the most resources at the end of the day.

Tactical PvP Battles

When it comes to battles, the MMO stands aside and it’s one on one. When two fleets enter a battle, it’s started a PvP tactical Turn Based battle between the two players. This battle is placed on a game board where every unit has it’s special abilities. It isn’t the one with the biggest army that wins, but the one that’s able to take the most out of his fleet. These tactical battles make the game very interesting.

The player will battle in this system as he explores the universe. He will interact with, and battle with other players. On a MMO world there are always many players online fighting for better resources, but our tactical mmo goes further and also has mobs (fleets controlled by the computer).  There are a lot of quests for players to choose a faction and hunt down players and mobs. You just need to build up a fleet and start hunting. But don’t forget that on a MMO world, you’ll also need friends.

For those that want to practice tactical movements before starting the hunt, our tactical mmo also has the concept of campaign. Several levels with predefined fleets where the player fights against the computer. This allows players to learn the battle system and tactics more quicly.

Tactical War Zone

The game also offers a tactical war zone for skirmish. On this zone we have tournaments, ladders and friendlies. On this zone we also have 2on2 and 1on1on1on1 battles.

On this zone the player doesn’t need to worry about the tactical resource and planet management. The game provides fleets with units and he only need to play the tactical matches. We have an ELO raking, just like in chess, that ranks players by how good they are on the tactical batlegrounds.

Players can play on tactical tournaments, with a groups phase and a playoffs phase. There is also available a ladder, that shows the best active players at the moment. This competitions provide the best players with Orions, the game currency.
