After the presentations that we saw in Frankfurt, we decided that it should be interesting for the players to earn orions with a system where isn’t necessary to pay with real money. Such services as SponsorPay allow players to earn credits in a game without having to pay real money.

The players just need to go to the Payment page and a new option is now available.

Now what you need to do to earn orions? Simple, you just have to register in some site, complete surveys, request information…

After that you can see the status of the process, and if you already receive the orions. Attention in some offers you may need to wait several hours to receive the orions.

When Orion’s Belt started, a year ago, almost every player were from Portugal, our home country. It’s with happiness that we see Orion’s Belt spreading around the globe, in the last month the game were played by people from 101 different  countries. Portugal continue to be the major country, but our expectations is that soon Portugal will represent just 10%-20% of all players.

Many players requested us to reduce the vacations limit and turn the game more competitive. So here go the new rules:

  • When a player register in the game he receives 7 days of vacations.
  • On the 1st of each month all players will receive 8 additional days of vacations. The maximum is 15 days.

This means if you have 3 days of vacations you will have 11, but if you have 12 days you will just have 15 days when the new month begins.

I was reviewing my photos, and just see what I found.

March 2006 – 1st Orion’s Belt Lunch (Lisbon – Parque das Nações)

October 2006 – 2nd Orion’s Belt Lunch (Lisbon – Parque das Nações)

March 2007 – 3rd Orion’s Belt Lunch (Oporto)

November 2008 – 4th Orion’s Belt Lunch (Lisbon – Rock & Sushi)

And this brings me to the point I want, I think it’s time to the Orion’s Belt 2009 lunch, what do you think? October will be a good month? If anyone have suggestions for new places or should we repeat Rock & Sushi?

I’ve just realized that I have 8000 ticks of vacations to spend. That maps to 55 days! We’ve been permissive on the vacations and because of that we have never ending tournaments. It not fair to the majority of players to be waiting that much time because one or two players.

That’s why we’re considering lowering the maximum vacation time to 15 days (2 weeks, 2160 ticks). Players won’t accumulate past that value. Note that the game provides montly free vacations to everyone. The objective is to allow players to take some vacations if they need, without forcing great constraints. But at the end of the day, we need to put all the active players first.

What do you think?

We are rebuilding the team area in the game, giving it more relevance. As you can see in the following image, this area is now in the top menu when you com to the War Zone.

If you don’t have a team you now can create it.

After creating the team, in the same page, will have an invitation table, where you can send to several players an invitation to form team with you (note: the team just have 2 members, so if you make several invitation the first player accepting the invitation will be your team mate).

The player that receive the invitation will see it in his homepage.

When a player accept your invitation the team is closed, and when you go to the team page it will be showed something like:

This is just the first version of team management, so in the next days is very possible it will be upgraded with statistics, information and new graphics.
