Were 3 days enjoying and knowing new people, new contacts and new ideas for the game. The result were pretty good, some hundreds of new players, and a good feedback from them after playing for a couple of minutes. I leave here 2 photos from the event.

It’s now possible to publish your victories on facebook/twitter. You just need to be at a finished battle screen, and you’ll have the following icons:

Pressing on those icons will allow you to post a status update on the desired site. For example, I posted a victory over Amazing Kazoo on my facebook profile page:

You may favorite or become a fan of our facebook application here at the Orion’s Belt Facebook Application. If the players start to use this, we’ll add more of these icons on other scenarios, for example, when a devastation is fired.

We received a suggestion from Danceman, to upgrade the alliance ranks because they are only few. So the ranks suggested were: Admiral, commander, first mate, captain, sargent and officer.
Beyond this a new concept were suggested too, the concept of mission/role. The admirals could assign a role to each member of the alliance, like: trainers, raiders, group leader, first line, relic defender, resource explorer, tactics officer, watcher…
Any more suggestions or changes to this?

Our good friends of On RPG made a very nice review about Orion’s Belt.
In conclusion, here are the prons and cons pointed to Orion’s Belt.
Pros:
- Graphics-centered interface
- Simple yet very addictive battle system
- Very accommodating community.
Cons:
- Not joining the competitive battles takes out most of the fun
- Some game systems are too familiar and is better done by other browser games
- Moving and exploring takes a lot of time.
I was very happy to see such a nice review of the game. All the Cons are being discussed by the team and we are trying to find solutions to resolve them ( and believe, we got some
).
Such a review makes me think that, if Orion’s Belt could reach a wider audience, if could be a huge success.
If you want to help spread Orion’s Belt, don’t forget that all the players have a referral link. You win by referring, we win by getting new players, and the community wins by getting new people to play with.

When Orion’s Belt started, a year ago, almost every player were from Portugal, our home country. It’s with happiness that we see Orion’s Belt spreading around the globe, in the last month the game were played by people from 101 different countries. Portugal continue to be the major country, but our expectations is that soon Portugal will represent just 10%-20% of all players.

If you want to know our community and eat a great sushi (and not only), come to the lunch. Please notify us so we could know how many people will come.

There have been some discussion about the protection of weaker players. Some find the current rules to be better for the weaker ones, and others find the rules to be better for the stronger ones. Here’s what we have now:
- A player can’t attack another if his level is 3 levels below his
- Every player with level >4 don’t have any protection
This has some problems. The first detected problem was that alliances put low level players making defense rings around the relics. That way, stronger level 10 players wouldn’t be able to attack them. The other problem was that low level players that moved to soon to the higher level areas, were being completely annihilated.
The fact is: we simply can’t protect low level players on high level areas. Period. Or else the game wouldn’t run. So we’re thinking on limiting the protection per area/level and disallow high level planet conquering to low level members.
What do you think?
